Group Rides
Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, spare tube and a helmet. We suggest some energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather.
ROADIE ROUTES
Marc Walter has mapped many of the area’s paved routes.
25 mi or less
- Sprague Loop ~25mi/40km
60-80 miles
- Wilbur - ~68 mi/109km
80+ miles
- Malcolm-Valpo-Ceresco-Ashland-Waverly~92mi/148km
SPRING SCHEDULE
The spring schedule kicks off on MARCH 15 following the move to daylight saving time. Please keep an eye on the front page of the website, under “Recent Tweets” to see if the ride will be going off. Posts will also be made to Facebook. Follow joyridebicycles on twitter with your mobile phone for the most recent ride updates.
Mondays
The Chit Chat: This No-Drop* ride is the place to start for new riders who want to learn about group riding and get more comfortable on the highways. We also love experienced riders to join us and meet newcomers to the sport, as well as share their knowledge.
Meet at the shop (16th & Old Cheney) at 6pm ready to roll.
——
*no-drop – means you won’t have to ride by yourself if the group’s pace picks up. Someone will stay with you.
