There’s a whole lotta cycling going on this year
A few of you have asked me about events for 2010 and there’s a bunch!
Nebraska Cycling News has an updated calendar including road, mtb, cx & I think even some adventure races will end up being posted there.
The Bike Ride Across Nebraska (BRAN) route for 2010 has been posted.
If you like going the long, and I mean long distances, on a bike, check out Nebraska Brevet. What are brevets and randonneuring? Read about it on the Seattle International Randonneurs page.
The Nebraska Sports Council (NSC) calendar is not updated as of yet, but here’s a link to check on it. From what I understand, which isn’t much, the Paris-Brest-Paris event is the height of randonneuring. When I get tired of racing, this is what I’m going to do next.
For some long distance free fun – no cost but bodily pain — The Pirate Cycling League (PCL) has launched the “Inaugural Gravel World Championship aka The Good Life Gravel Adventure” for Saturday, August 21, 2010. Don’t miss the other PCL events for the season in the right sidebar of the site.
The 2010 United Federation of Dirt (UFD) has a ton of mtb action scheduled this year for the Kansas/Missouri region. Download the calendar (pdf).
I know there’s a bunch of stuff going on in Iowa, but can’t find a nice calendar listing for it right off. A couple of weekends racers would enjoy include the Iowa City Road Race and Old Capitol Criterium as well as the Memorial Weekend Criteriums. If you have some other links, post ‘em here.
You multi-sport folks, what calendars do you watch? Here’s a link to the Flatland Multisport Series in Iowa. Check out their Facebook page for more info.
